Yagan 9

In Term 2, Yagan 9 have been expanding their knowledge through various engaging projects. In HASS, students have been studying the First Fleet's arrival in Australia, researching one of the eleven ships and creating artwork to showcase their findings. They are also exploring the rich history of First Nations people, who have lived on the land for over 60,000 years. In chemical sciences, the focus is on carbon dating, linking to HASS by investigating how this technique supports the long history of Aboriginal people. Students researched Aboriginal artefacts, uncovering fascinating facts like the traditional name for a boomerang, "Kylie." Additionally, as part of their Big Plan journey, they are joining the Year 9 cohort biweekly to collaborate on activities, such as debating which four experts to bring to a deserted island, fostering lively discussions and enhancing their learning experience.
