Year 7

Our Year 7’s have had a fantastic start to Term 2! Across both classes, students have embraced the opportunity to collaborate within the cohort to enhance their discussions and engagement within the new ‘Creating an Event’ and ‘Ancient Australia’ units. By combining together, the students have not only enjoyed the chance to develop their social skills with peers, but also share the different perspectives and experiences they each bring to every lesson. In HASS lessons they have begun looking at First Nations Peoples, and identifying our local Whadjuk Noongar country. Within Chemical Sciences the students have started to investigate separation techniques, beginning with a hands-on activity to separate an egg yolk from whites, and they will continue towards learning about traditional techniques used by the indigenous peoples of our land. We are eager to see our students consolidate their learning of these topics within the creation of a journal and through conducting a scientific investigation. Congratulations on a great start to the term – we look forward to seeing you continue to learn and grow together as the learning continues!
