Tan 9

Self-Selected Reading.

Students of Tan 9 have been enjoying self-selected reading this term. Students choose their own reading material either from the school library or the classroom library. This literacy reading activity can have many benefits including but not limited to, fostering a sense of ownership and investment in their own learning, exploring a wide range of topics and genres when given the freedom to choose their own reading material and promotes lifelong reading habits such as encouraging and instilling a love for reading that extends beyond the classroom. Students in Tan have selected a wide range of age-appropriate books such as Puppies to Dogs, Wings of Fire graphic novels, Goosebumps, Minecraft The Ultimate Guide, Harry Potter Fantastic Beasts, The Lego Book and Star wars.
