WPL Term 3 Week 8
We are coming to the end of term 3 and what a busy term it's been for Workplace Learning in Senior School. We have had a few students try something completely new which has been fantastic to see, and we have also seen students returning to familiar placements to further develop their skills in that particular industry.
Will attended Retzlaff Computers where he assisted with updating software on desk top computers, laptops and security cameras among other tasks across the week.
Lauren attended Chuckles Childcare Centre where she worked alongside staff of the centre assisting with activities for children of a variety of ages.
Michael and Danika attended Rebel Sport where they completed a variety of tasks such as pricing and tagging clothing and shoes, stocking shelves and racks and pumping up balls.
Tamati, Lee, Zach and Krystal all attended Red Dot Stores across our community where they stocked shelves, priced items and unpacked and hung clothing on racks.
Jack, Kris, and Kim returned to Woolworths stores where they focused on improving their retail employability skills with restocking shelves, returning items and clearing away and crushing cardboard boxes.
Amber, Kaylene and Sarah also returned to the Salvos Store where they completed a variety of tasks such as sorting and hanging clothing, bringing in donations and tidying areas of the store.
A big thank you to our participating employers who are always willing to support our students with their Workplace Learning program. The skills and experience acquired whilst learning in the workplace are well worth the preparation involved prior to commencing.
Well done to all participating students! We are delighted to see you shining in our community and are so proud of you!
Finally, a big thanks go to all our Warnbro ESC staff members involved in the preparation, organisation and support of our students in the workplace.
We appreciate everyone involved in making our Workplace Learning week a huge success!
