Forrest 8
Hey parents! It's been quite a rocky ride in Forrest 8 this term, and we're not just talking about the playground adventures!
Our curious students have been on a rock-ulous journey, exploring the fascinating world of rocks and how they come to be.We kicked things off with a rock investigation that even Sherlock Holmes would envy!
Our rock collectors scoured various spots for rocks of all shapes and sizes. They scrutinized these rocky treasures like true geology detectives, unveiling their unique characteristics.
With their detective hats still on, our mini geologists sorted their findings into rock categories: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. It's like rock triage - who knew learning could be so rock-tastic?!
And brace yourselves for the grand finale, folks!
We wrapped up this adventure with an experiment that turned candies into rock stars.
Yep, you read that right! We put the "sweet" in sedimentary, the "melt" in metamorphic, and the "fire" in igneous by applying some sugar-induced heat and pressure to those lollies. It was a scientific sugar rush that left us all amazed!Who knew rocks could be this much fun?
Thanks for joining us on this rockin' journey of discovery. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures from Forrest 8!
