Yagan 9
Well, what a busy start to the term Yagan had!
The students all coped incredibly well with their changing options timetables and are all looking forward to learning new skills. In class, we have been studying the effects of chemical reactions and understanding how something as seemingly simple as baking a cake, is actually a complex chain of chemicals reactions!
We put some of these theories to the test, as we experimented with various forms of liquids and powders and made predictions about what we believed the results might be. Some class members were a little disappointed there were no ‘big bang’ type reactions, however the star patterns created in our ‘Magic Milk’ experiment, created a lot of excitement.
We allowed our creative minds to expand, as we delved into the arts and created our amazing silhouette artwork. As part of our ‘Big Plan’ journey, we have been discussing how everyone has so much more to them than what we see on the outside. We understand how labels do not show our individual personalities and our unique talents. Each student chose three affirmations which they believe made them the incredible people they are. These affirmations are highlighted around their silhouette artwork – with each silhouette as unique as they are.
