Tan 9

This term in Maths, our Tan 9 class has embarked on a unique learning experience with 'real world maths' using remote control cars. We've developed a myriad of skills that integrate practical applications of mathematical principles. Central to our activities has been the measurement of rates - we've gauged the laps per minute and seconds per meter each car can achieve.

Building upon these insights, we've been predicting and testing distances using known rates per meter, honing our analytical skills and improving our understanding of how rate and distance interrelate. We've also been measuring more complex parameters such as radius and perimeter, fostering a deepened appreciation of geometry. Additionally, tally mark exercises have helped us master counting, data collection, and organization.

We are progressing towards graphically presenting our data, which will encapsulate our learnings visually and help us interpret trends and patterns. Moreover, the term has been peppered with exhilarating moments of friendly competition during our class team relay race challenges, adding a dash of excitement and fostering teamwork within our mathematical exploration.
