Bell 8
Time certainly has flown! It's hard to believe that we are already in the fourth week of the term. While unfortunately, many of our Bell 8 students have been hit with illnesses, we remain optimistic for a healthier rest of the term.
In Chemical Science, our students have been learning about atoms and molecules. Last week, they used Legos as atoms to build molecules. This week, Bell 8 invited Forest 8 to join them outside to play the molecule game. The game involved calling out different kinds of molecule names, and the students had to act it out. The activities ranged from lying on their bellies and sizzling in a pan for the bacon molecule to lying on their back with one foot in the air like a periscope for the submarine molecule. The students weren’t so keen on doing the bacon molecule 3 times in a row! Afterwards, students were placed into teams to work together to build a molecule puzzle. Once all pieces were retrieved, the teams used their instruction sheet to complete the molecule puzzle. Everyone loved the games and agreed it was a fun way to learn about atoms and molecules.
