Learning About Sustainability in Yagan 9
This term, our students have been exploring sustainability and food scarcity, both in our local community and around the world. We’ve investigated how reducing food waste and managing rubbish can make a positive impact on the environment.
As part of our Project-Based Learning, students have been learning how to collect and display data using graphs and infographics created in Canva. They’ve created pie, line, and plot graphs to highlight important issues in our school community.
Alongside this, we’ve introduced a special social–emotional learning activity: our Tree of Gratitude. Each week, students (and staff!) decorate a leaf to share something they are thankful for. It has quickly become a highlight of our week and a beautiful way to celebrate appreciation and kindness in our classroom.
