Former Student Visit
Last Wednesday, we had a special visit from a former student, Jake, who was once supported by Mrs Mangano during her time as an Education Assistant. Mrs Mangano recently reconnected with Jake after seeing a video produced by SSEN-D showcasing his impressive skills in directing.
Recognising Jake’s wealth of knowledge in areas such as directing, drawing, and storytelling, Mrs Mangano saw an opportunity for him to inspire students with similar interests. However, it quickly became clear that Jake’s personal journey was just as powerful as his creative talents.
Jake shared his story of living with Autism and how he has come to view it as a gift. His presentation was both inspiring and empowering, leaving students with three key messages:
– Discover your special interest
– Trust that Education Assistants are here to support you
– Look for opportunities to showcase your skills
We’re grateful to Jake for sharing his journey and for reminding us of the power of resilience, self-belief, and following your passion.
