Year 8 Farmer Term 2

🌏 Year 8 Farmer Class – Flourishing through Culture, Creativity & Connection 🌿

This term, the Year 8 Farmer class has been flourishing as we explore the themes of Culture, Creativity, and Connection. Our learning journey has taken us deep into the Earth’s geological landscape — through both a scientific and Aboriginal lens.We have been investigating erosion, learning how natural forces such as wind, water, and rock movement shape the Earth over thousands of years. At the same time, we’ve explored Aboriginal perspectives, including Dreamtime stories like that of the Rainbow Serpent, which offers a powerful cultural explanation for the formation of rivers, mountains, and landforms. These dual understandings have helped us appreciate the rich knowledge systems that have shaped our understanding of Country for generations.

Our class especially enjoyed getting hands-on in a practical erosion experiment, using sand, rocks, and flowing water to simulate the gradual changes in the Earth’s surface. It was messy, exciting, and incredibly eye-opening!

We look forward to continuing this journey of discovery — with many more exciting learning opportunities to come this term. Stay tuned! 🌊🌿
