Yagan Term 1 2025

A strong start for Yagan Class! It’s been a busy and productive start to the school year for the students in Yagan Class, as we’ve been exploring the theme of identity through our cross-curricular Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit.
With our class named after the Noongar warrior Yagan, we’ve been learning about his story and legacy—examining how history, culture, family, and community shape who we are and where we belong. This PBL unit spans Maths, English, Science, and HASS, allowing students to engage in rich, meaningful learning experiences connecting multiple subject areas. From analysing historical sources and narratives to exploring scientific and mathematical concepts tied to our community, students have been making deeper connections between their learning and identities.
We’re looking forward to seeing how our learning evolves over the term as we continue to explore what it means to be part of a community and how our personal histories help shape our future.
