Flourishing Festival

On Tuesday we welcomed current and prospective families to our school for our annual Flourishing Festival and the opening of our new Ngalung Hub.

Deb Hamblin Mayor City of Rockingham officially opened our "Ngalung Hub" which means "Our Hub" in Standard English.

Families were then entertained by our talented Year 7 musicians with the support of Music Rocks Australia. Former student, Maddie, returned to tell us about her journey since she left us and her development of a microenterprise, Wood Flame Designs. Families then visited classrooms to observe our students demonstrating their skills, strengths, and interests. They were treated with hot drinks from our Hospitality class, Rise and Shine, plus got the chance to purchase a bargain at our Op shop, Retail Therapy, while savouring snacks from the canteen. Families also had the opportunity to connect with external agencies: APM, headspace Rockingham, 4lifeskills, Therapy Focus, Edge Employment Solutions, and Bizlink Quality Employment .

Finally, our Workplace Transition Coordinator, Youth Worker, Family Liaison Officer and AEIO shared their roles and their support for students and families. Our students and staff highly enjoyed sharing our school with our families and we would appreciate any feedback you would like to provide.
