Horsepower Term 4
This term some of our fabulous Year 10’s had the opportunity to access the community Volunteering at different places. I would like to thank, Horsepower, St Brendan’s Homeless Respite and the Warnbro Community Church for supporting our program giving our Year 10’s these great experiences to support their interests.
Horsepower gives the students a variety of tasks which involves brushing, feeding, walking the horses. They also get the opportunity to work with primary school students leading them around, some of them used to attend when they were in primary school. Now they are the leaders, the Manager Ali is always impressed with the growth the students exhibit remembering some of them when they used to be involved in the program.
St Brendan’s Homeless Respite gives our students the opportunity to interact with the community, set up preparation, sorting donated clothing, serving food, cleaning and packing up. It’s a great chance to see our students in action showing staff their strengths with the different tasks for future opportunities in the following year.
