Workplace Skills 1

The highlight for the Workplace Skills 1 class, so far was the making of ice-cream. Using salt to reduce the freezing point of water, we used our knowledge of chemistry to make vanilla ice-cream. The students enjoyed seeing the real-life application of their learning and enjoyed the cool treat on what was a hot day. We finished looking at solutions with a colourful skittles experiment with the other year 10 class.

In Science we are currently learning about inheritance, and we are looking forward to extracting DNA from strawberries on Friday in a Science lab.

As a Workplace Skills class we are setting up our own business. We have decided to create small 3D printed Minecraft blocks and personalised Bubble Tea Cups. Look out for the launch of our business, “The Gift Shop” soon.
