Stanley 7 Term 4
Across Term 4, our Year 7 students embraced the opportunity to design "The Perfect Island" as a culmination of their learning in the new unit "Building Futures." In HASS lessons, students explored the concept of liveability in their community, considering how factors such as services, environment, and facilities may influence people’s decisions on where to live. This understanding was deepened in their Science studies, where they learned about renewable and non-renewable energy sources and the importance of water as a precious resource.
Using their newfound knowledge, the Stanley class collaborated to design and create a model island, carefully considering the essential infrastructure, services, and resources their island community would need to thrive. The students’ engagement and teamwork in this final project was absolutely tremendous, resulting in what could undoubtedly be coined "The Perfect Island."
