NAIDOC Assembly

On Tuesday 6th August, WCHS & WCHS ESC held a whole-school NAIDOC assembly to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced. During the assembly we were privileged to have a cultural performance from Binar Futures where they displayed dances from the oldest continuous culture on earth. After the assembly, special guests enjoyed a morning tea featuring kangaroo sausage rolls, bush tomato kangaroo meatballs, lemon myrtle chicken strips, and more. We valued having our Aboriginal families join us to celebrate. Please see our Facebook page for more information.
