Stanley 7

Throughout Term 2, our Year 7 students actively engaged in their learning within the new unit, "Ancient Australia." During HASS lessons, students deepened their understanding of our country's history by investigating different ways the past has been recorded and shared. In Chemical Sciences, students built on their knowledge of mixtures and methods of separation, exploring both modern and traditional techniques. Students then embraced the opportunity to plan and conduct their own scientific investigation. Using everyday mixtures such as sand and shells, the students tested the effectiveness of traditional techniques like sieving, yandying, and winnowing to separate these mixtures. It was fantastic to see our students applying their learning in action, and recognising that scientists indeed existed in Ancient Australia! Please see our Facebook page for more photos
